It's a BOY !
We have welcomed a new member into our family. A PUPPY!
We have welcomed a new member into our family. A PUPPY!!
Name: Jimmer (we will get to the explanation later)
Bread: Weimaraner
Age: 9 weeks
He is adorable, lovable, rambunctious, and also has narcolepsy- not really but he cannot stay awake for more then 20 minutes.. He sleeps the majority of the day and loves to cuddle. He is my new cuddle buddy. Despite his puppy odor and horrible breath, he is our new best friend. We picked him out the week he was born. His eyes were not opened yet, and amazingly enough we were visiting him when he first opened his eyes, so we can legitimately claim that we were the first things Jimmer saw in this world. We continued to visit him every week before we were able to take him home. He was the only male in his litter of 12, and we were the first to pick our puppy...which means he was the "pick of the litter!" We were not supposed to get him until Friday but Charlton surprised me and walked into the house on Tuesday with our bundle of joy, best surprise ever! The whole puppy thing was supposed to be a surprise but Charlton just can't keep a surprise and took me to pick him out, he decided to surprise me that way, which I loved...except when he walked in the door the first thing I said was "Thats not Jimmer," we took the wrong dog! Sure enough it was him, they just change so much from week to week. It makes me sad, I wish he would stay a puppy forever, I love him as a puppy! But I guess I will love him as a 90 pound dog as well. The first week we got him, he was only 7 weeks old and we were setting the alarm for every 3 hours... did I say "we?" I meant "I." He does not bark yet which makes it difficult to be mean and discipline him. A bark you can get mad and aggravated at, but a little whimper is so hard to say no to.
I am obsessed with my Jimmer. I always thought I would never love a dog like I love my snicker-doodle, who lives with my parents, but Jimmer has these big blue eyes that suck me in. His ears are too big for him and the ears make him top heavy. Weimaraners lose their eye color after a couple months, and their eyes are suppose to end up this yellow color, but I honestly think they look like alien eyes. Charlton and I have a secret competition going on, we are both trying to make him like us more. Which is one of the reasons I jump out of bed at 3:45 am to let him out, but I have noticed Charlton does not even budge. I think I am the only one in this competition.
Now to the name... As I have learned, Jimmer was a very good basketball player for BYU and was drafted by the Kings this past year. So we named our dog after a basketball player from BYU... My husband says he is not a BYU fan but he loves the name. It was a child's name or the dog's name. Charlton really wanted it... so we made a bet and I lost, I did however, get an hour long back massage. I have to admit after calling him Jimmer, the name fits him perfectly... he is a Jimmer. Charlton says you just got Jimmered...whatever that means?
We were going to wait on the whole puppy thing until later in our marriage but our house just has wood and tile flooring, so if anything happens it will be easier to clean up which makes potty training just a little bit nicer. Jimmer has definitely taught me patience and that I am waiting to have babies that need to be fed in the middle of the night. I love having him. I love taking care of him, but from the words in Eat Pray Love having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face, it is a full time commitment. Same with a puppy, he is a full time commitment. Now I understand the bonds some of my friends (you know who you are) have with their cute little pets! Don't think this will be the only post on him. Enjoy, and more to come!

The Beginning
Here goes nothing... this should please many people. I have been meaning to do this and slowly watching each of my friends develop their so cute blogs I constantly think about creating my own. It just comes down to when will I actually sit down and stop the excuses of why I have not started. No more excuses, I think I can have fun with this.
I guess a first blog post isn't successful unless you explain how you met your husband and about that wonderful day of matrimony Well... July 1st, 2011 was an amazing day I married the man of my dreams, Charlton.

We met in Pueblo, Colorado. I was going to school and he was there for the a program in the Air Force. We met at a singles FHE. I always told myself I would never let that happen. As usual I walked in late and saw this new boy sitting on the couch, I then made it a goal of mine to be next to him. when that was accomplished the rest was down hill from there. We were married in the Twin Falls LDS temple. it was a beautiful day, we will never forget! We were so blessed to have all our favorite people there to support us. Thanks guys!

Now we have been married for 2 months and we are still as happy as can be, We are actually pretty cheesy. If people heard the way we talk to each other or the things we say I am pretty sure we would be laughed at, starred at, but ooo well we are young and in love and having fun too.
I did it! Enjoy! More to come.
